Hello everybody, it is Jim, welcome to our recipe page. Today, I’m gonna show you how to make a distinctive dish, dal dhokli. It is one of my favorites. For mine, I will make it a little bit tasty. This is gonna smell and look delicious.

Dal Dhokli is one of the most favored of current trending foods on earth. It is appreciated by millions daily. It is easy, it is quick, it tastes yummy. They are nice and they look fantastic. Dal Dhokli is something that I have loved my whole life.

To begin with this particular recipe, we have to first prepare a few components. You can cook dal dhokli using 24 ingredients and 30 steps. Here is how you cook that.

The ingredients needed to make Dal Dhokli:
  1. Get wheat flour
  2. Prepare gram flour (besan)
  3. Get oil
  4. Take turmeric powder
  5. Prepare chilli powder
  6. Prepare salt
  7. Take garam masala
  8. Take sugar
  9. Get lemon juice
  10. Make ready water
  11. Prepare Tur dal
  12. Get water
  13. Take baking soda
  14. Prepare oil
  15. Take curry leaves
  16. Take cumin seeds
  17. Get mustard Seeds
  18. Get cloves
  19. Prepare black peppers whole
  20. Make ready asafetida (hing)
  21. Get green chilli chopped (remove seeds)
  22. Make ready tomatoes chopped
  23. Prepare coriander leaves cilantro / for garnishing
  24. Make ready ghee (clarified butter)
Instructions to make Dal Dhokli:
  1. Wash tur dal 2 times with water
  2. Boil tur dal, 1.5 cup water, baking soda and 3-4 drops oil in pressure cooker till 3 whistles
  3. Till tur dal is cooking, take a bowl and mix all dry ingredients in sequence
  4. Add lemon juice and mix it well
  5. Knead tight dough, which you can roll without dusting flour
  6. Take few drops of oil and rub it on palms and then onto surface of dough
  7. By this time pressure cooker will be done with 3 whistles, it takes approximately 10-12 minutes
  8. Let the cooker to cool down for 5-7 minutes
  9. Blend the dal. The consistency should not be thick, add water if required and blend it
  10. Take a pan which has lid or pressure cooker, add oil and put it on stove at medium heat
  11. As oil is a bit warm, add cumin seeds, Mustard seeds, black peppers, cloves
  12. As all seeds starts cracking, add curry leaves and sauté it for 15 seconds
  13. Add asafetida and sauté for 5 seconds
  14. Add tomato and green chilli and sauté it for about a minute
  15. Add blended dal and then add turmeric powder, salt, chili powder and garam masala, mix it well
  16. Let it boil on medium heat for 5 minutes, stir occasionally
  17. Meanwhile, let’s prepare dhokli
  18. Divide the dough into 2 parts
  19. Take one piece and roll it into circle of 7 inch diameter
  20. Cut it into diamond shape pieces as shown in Image 1
  21. Repeat step 19 and 20 for other part of the dough
  22. Check if the dal and the spices are blended well, if not then wait for few minutes
  23. Reduce the stove heat to low and Add dhokli one by one into dal
  24. Add peanuts; mix it carefully to preserve the shape of dhokli
  25. After mixing cover the lid of the pan or pressure cooker
  26. Cook it until dhokli tenders, for pressure cooker, keep the stove on medium heat and wait until 2 whistles
  27. Once done, take a bowl, garnish it with 1 tsp ghee, some coriander leaves and squeeze a small piece of lemon
  28. This recipe will result in four bowls
  29. Serve it hot. Ghee will add the nice flavor to dish, but it’s optional
  30. You can prepare this dish from leftover dal also. In case you have dal then prepare dhokli and start from step 10, adjust the spices quantity accordingly
