Take 1/2 cup yoghurt
Prepare 3 tbsp bajri flour
Take Salt to taste
Make ready 2 cups water
Take 1/4 cup fresh peas

Prepare 1 teaspoon ghee
Make ready 1/4 teaspoon cumim
Prepare 1/8 teaspoon hing/ asafoetida

Get 1 tbsp chopped fresh garlic
Take 1 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
Take Charcoal to smoke
Instructions to make Smoky Pearl Millet / Bajri Soup:
Add yoghurt, bajri flour and salt in a pot and whisk it so that there are no lumps left. Now add two cups of water and whisk it again.
Put this mixture on stove and start cooking on low heat. Add chopped carrots and peas to it and mix it well. The mixture will start getting thicker in 10 to 15 minutes. When the soup is a little bit thick and vegetables are done but still crunchy, switch off the stove.
For tadka, heat ghee and add cumin seeds to it. When it browns, add hing, green chillies, fresh garlic and coriander leaves to it and pour this tadka over the soup. Mix it well with the soup.
Put charcoal on naked flame and make it red. Now place a small light weight plate in the soup and add hot charcoal to it. Pour little ghee on top and cover the lid to smoke the soup. Remove it after 5 - 7 minutes and mix the soup well.
Serve smoky bajri soup hot.
